One of the many advantages of staying at Las Qolqas is its exceptional location in Ollantaytambo, making it one of the most conveniently positioned stays in the Sacred Valley for visiting Machu Picchu. From the hotel, it’s just a short drive to Ollantaytambo railway station, allowing you to begin this unforgettable journey with ease.
From here, settle in for a spectacular 1½-hour train journey through the heart of the Sacred Valley. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, continue by shuttle bus for approximately winding your way up the mountainside to the entrance of Machu Picchu.
As Machu Picchu has limited daily entry, visitors must reserve a specific circuit and entry time in advance. The most desirable entry times, train services and circuits can sell out, particularly during popular travel periods, so we strongly recommend arranging your visit well ahead of time.
If you’d like to reserve your spot or learn more about the excursion, please email us at hello@wildlywellretreats.com, and we’ll be delighted to help arrange your Machu Picchu experience.
Interested in attending, but want more info? Book a call with one of our team members to learn more about our upcoming retreat.
Cusco’s Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ) is the closest airport to fly into when traveling to Las Qolqas Eco Lodge, our retreat venue located just outside Ollantaytambo in Peru’s Sacred Valley.
From Cusco Airport, the retreat venue is approximately a 1.5-hour drive away. The retreat venue can arrange a private transfer to Las Qolqas for an additional cost or you can take a taxi from the airport.
Many international travelers will first fly into Lima (LIM) and then take a connecting domestic flight to Cusco (CUZ).
Las Qolqas is located in Peru’s Sacred Valley at approximately 9,200 feet above sea level. We recommend staying well hydrated, taking it easy when you first arrive, limiting alcohol during your stay to allow your body time to adjust.
The Sacred Valley sits at a lower elevation than Cusco, making it a great place to acclimate before exploring higher-altitude destinations such as Cusco or Machu Picchu.

Absolutely! If visiting Machu Picchu is on your bucket list, we recommend planning your visit before or after the retreat, rather than during the retreat itself. The government limits the amount of visitors per day so it is important to book in advance. Las Qolqas can arrange the tour which includes train tickets, entrance tickets, and a guide. and the cost is around $400 USD.
If you know Machu Picchu is on your bucketlist please email us at hello@wildlywellretreats.com so we can connect you to the Las Qolqas team to arrange the tour.
Las Qolqas is located just outside Ollantaytambo, making it a convenient starting point for the train journey to Machu Picchu. Tickets and train reservations should be booked well in advance, as availability can be limited.
Yes! All levels are welcome.
This is a female only retreat and around 10-17 guests are expected to attend.
In June, Peru’s Sacred Valley enjoys dry, sunny, and generally pleasant weather, as the region is in the heart of its dry season. Daytime temperatures typically range between 18–22°C (64–72°F), with strong sunshine making afternoons feel comfortably warm, while evenings and early mornings are much colder, often dropping to around 2–7°C (36–45°F). Rainfall is very low during June, and visitors can expect plenty of clear blue skies and bright, sunny days, making it an excellent time for exploring Ollantaytambo, Pisac, Urubamba, and the surrounding Inca sites. The dry conditions are also ideal for hiking and outdoor activities, although the high altitude means temperatures can change quickly once the sun goes down. Overall, June offers some of the best weather of the year in the Sacred Valley, with sunny days, excellent visibility, and minimal rainfall, though warm layers are essential for the chilly mornings and evenings.
There is so much to do during downtime on the retreat. The most popular additional excursion is a Machu Picchu day trip. Cooking classes, massages and daytrips to archaeological sites can also be arranged on site.
